Fidel Castro believes Obama to be 'absolutely sincere'

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090121/ap_on_re_la_am_ca/lt_cuba_fidel_castro

Start. To End.

START. I became a man before I knew what manhood was..
Young. Shy. Curious. I welcomed the challenge with open arms..
Defeated. They said I would never amount to nothing..
Before I could stand on my own two feet my story was written.
Those authors remain a mystery yet I continue to look them in the eye.
Day after day.
Night after night.
Up.
Down.
Wrong.
Right.
My question is, is there any wrong in what YOU perceive to be right?
I've heard it all.
But for some reason I can't remember what they said.
Then she reminds me: "I don't understand how you think you're better than everyone else."
Nobody believed in me.
Dreams lost in space.
Space filled with air.
Does that mean my dreams were never there to begin with?
Bold.
Passionate.
Loving. To a fault.
Look in the mirror & I see myself.
Looking at YOU you see something else.
Perception.
Reality.
Death before dishonor.
I wear it with pride.
Having everything is worst than having nothing at all.
To lose what was once loved is different than loving what was once lost.
Nothing better. Nothing worst.
Redemption.
Reflection.
Through trials & tribulations..
Never give one your heart, unless you want them to be the artist of your portrait.
Hope faces fear.
Change represents growth.
What's real in MY world may not be the same in yours.
Does that make me outta sight & outta mind?
Or is my every move magnified on a different level.
Speechless? No.
Just looking for someone to listen.
All the way.. to the END.

this little piece was inspired by no one, yet everyone i've ever come in contact with played a role in shaping it. it took me about 5 minutes to write @ 3am on a early wednesday morning, January 21, 2009.. i'm not going to tell you to enjoy because frankly, it's not for you. if these words/thoughts happen to touch a nerve in your soul thank you; i hope you're able to see what i couldn't.. and at times, still can't.

'Brother In Arms'

I believe Jay-Z said it best: "Usually I don't do this, but uhhhh.."

This isn't what I would consider a 'goodbye', more like 'until we meet again' type of situation. So for those of you who don't know my partner in crime & HOMETEAM affiliate, A. Huston Conti aka Belefonte, is about to embark on a 5-month journey thru the south of France [as well as other parts of Europe] with his home stay location being the beautiful & lavish Montpellier, France. I'm sure the sights are amazing, the food is filling, and the women are gorgeous. With a combination like that, I'm sure the e-mails & stories will be worth while to listen to. So from one brother to another, enjoy your time my guy. Be smart, be safe, & show the south of France how us Sea-town boys throw down!

And for those of you who would like to follow HC on his journey, check out his NEW blog, this is where you'll find all the updates.. in words & pictures: http://eurostylemontpellier.blogspot.com/

Obama's Letter to his Daughters

In a touching letter to his daughters, Malia [pictured left; age 10] and Sasha [pictured right; age 7], President-in-waiting Barack Obama sent a message of love and revealed the real reason he decided to run for the highest position in all the land: "because of what I want for you and for every child in this nation." Obama goes on to talk about how as a youngster the only thing he was focused on was his placement in society. Where he would end up, how far he would go, who he would pass along the way, & what he would do once he got "there". This all changed when these girls came into his life says Obama: "I realized that my own life wouldn't count for much unless I was able to ensure that you had every opportunity for happiness and fulfilment in yours." The best part about Obama's message is simple, not only does he want the best for his girls, but also for every child in America today, moreso than his predecessor, Mr. "no child left behind".. And this, ladies & gentlemen, is what makes him a President, our President.

Myron 'Rolle-s' right into Oxford University

"The former Florida State safety Myron Rolle said in a text message that he would be heading to Oxford, England, for his Rhodes scholarship instead of entering the 2009 NFL draft. Rolle started for most of three seasons at Florida State and was considered a strong professional prospect. Instead he will go to Oxford for a one-year master’s degree in medical anthropology. He said he would enter the 2010 draft." -- Pete Thamel, New York Times

Tony Dungy: A True Man of God

After 7 seasons as the Indianapolis Colts head coach, and 6 prior to that with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Tony Dungy has decided to call it a career in order to embark on a life-long dream of spreading the word of Christ & volunteering his time to challenged youths across the world. A class act on and off the football field steps away from the game of football in historic fashion. No matter what happens, Dungy will be forever remembered for being the first African-American coach to lead his football team to a Super Bowl championship.

Ricky Ross.. the BOSS

This little excerpt comes from an interview Ross did with LowKey of BET..

“I think the talk makes my story more compelling because people are now looking into my life and realizing, it’s much deeper than rap. When a lot of mothafu*kerz look into it and find out the real, they sit they ass down somewhere because it really goes down where I’m from. I don’t think anyone questions what I talk about in my music; what I’ve seen or what I’ve done…they don’t question me, I run these streets. I’ll walk in a room full of any of these ni*gaz that ya’ll feel are tough and it is what it is. I breathe smooth and I’m not going to have any problems, I’m telling you that right now. That internet stuff, when that sh*comes to life is when the boss enters the room. I’m about business and that’s what I’m here to promote. Have I seen 50 Keys? Of course I have, I been getting money, that’s not even a question and I don’t think anyone has ever doubted that. So, that’s why my music is going to remain relevant and I feel I’m only going to get bigger and better because the women love me.”

Just My Thoughts..

I've always wondered what life would be like if I wasn't excepted by my peers.. What would I do? Where would I go? Who would I turn to? Shit like that. Come to think of it I don't ever think I've given a damn about what others think or feel about me, unless their considered a "loved one" and even then if you can't except me for me then you have no place in my life..

So I'm sitting here thinking to myself about some of the people I keep around me and how judgemental then can be on the regular.. Like 24:7, Monday thru Sunday, et cetera et cetera.. They say they 'got you' when in reality the only thing the got is your name on the tip of their tounge waiting for you to slip up so they can tell the world..

I guess yall forgot.. I WILL NOT LOSE.

speak on it.

Bow Wow vs. T-Pain???

so in case yall don't know here's a little background info: at the 2008 BET Hip-Hop awards, T-Pain [a last minute host] consistantly refered to himself as the ringleader of hip-hop, due to all the collaborations & hits he's spawned over the recent years.. everything was flowing smoothly in T-Pain's circus until the last performance of the night when he introduced Bow Wow as one of the "midgets of his circus"..

fast foward to now.. i just happened to be surfing thru all the youtube/hiphop blog/sites/etc and came across a freestyle my homie spit where he takes a little jab at the ringleader himself.. check it out & tell me if you think this potential beef will actually escalate into anything..

hold up.. didn't these two do a song together a little while back?? hahaha
Bow Wow goes in right around the 1:30 mark..
but the whole freestyle is cold.
enjoy.
ohh one more thing.. enough with the hating on this nigga PLEASE!
homie got bars.. & more money than yall hahah

Notorious B.E.E.F.

Apparently Lil' Kim wasn't too happy about the making of the 'Notorious' flim & how she was portrayed.. This is just part of what she had to say:

"I've had enough and I'm about to expose them both. ... I've been quiet for a long time," Kim was quoted as saying by Hip-Hop Weekly. "I'm very disappointed in Faith. There's nothing Faith or Ms. Wallace could do to stop me from reppin' B.I.G. all day. I'm gonna always do that. ... It's time for Ms. Wallace to be exposed. "I was not involved in the movie," she continued. "[The filmmakers] never came and asked me anything about Biggie, but again, this was Faith and Ms. Wallace's movie," Kim told the tabloid about her thoughts on the biopic. "I couldn't believe it. I was outraged."

It's a sad day when people are beefing over one of the greatest storytellers of our generation.. Rest in peace BIG!

I guess this is the only way they could shut Barkley up..
