Greatest Catch of All-Time??

Time Out New York.. Jigga's Turn

Jay's the only rapper to make the cut for the New York 40.. I'm not going to post the entire interview for the sake of those wanting to see other posts on my blog but here's a sneek peek:

What’s your favorite place to go in New York? Not a place to be seen but a secret place.

Jay-Z: Now, I can’t do that, it won’t be a secret no more. I can give you the ones everyone knows about. Okay, okay, I’ll do it, but it’ll be the one thing I share with you guys and all of New York: Right in Cipriani’s on a Saturday, sitting outside with a nice Bellini and good conversation, there’s a shades store right around the corner that I love, walking up the block, getting me a couple pair of shades. They have all the classic shades: Ray-Bans and the Persols that I have on presently. And I’m not gonna tell you the name—they’ll walk there, they’ll see it.

WaMu sinks while Fishman floats..

WaMu's CEO, Alan Fishman, could walk away with upwards of $18 MILLION dollars after 3 weeks on the job get this.. if he DECIDES to keep it! I'm no rocket scientist but this sounds a little strange to me. First of all why wouldn't he want to take what technically, is rightfully his.. and secondly, where in the world does a CEO get off making $18 Mil after 3 weeks of work?? Somebody please help me out there.. If you want to read more about this, and WaMu's tank job, here's the link:

..I need to find me one of those type of jobs!

Eye Legacy

I'd be a fool not to blog about this.. One of my favorite artists of all-time, the wonderful Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes, will be brought back in to the music forefront with a solo album entitled 'Eye Legacy' on November 11th.. She'll be collaborating with the late, great Tupac Shakur, Missy Elliott, Chamillionaire, Lil Mama, Bobby Valentino, and others. A percentage of the proceeds from the album sales will go to the Lisa Lopes Foundation and her orphanage in Honduras according to UrbanNetwork.com.

Left Eye was the living definition of a free spirit..
REST IN PARADISE baby girl.

Spoken Like a True Politician..

Looks like McCain has decided to man up & take part in tonight's presidential debate after telling the world he wouldn't take part in it until America's "bailout" situation was completely resolved. Let's just hope both of the candidates give us straight up answers tonight, instead of dancing around the questions..

No 1 on the Corner Got a Swagger Like PUFF!

Commonwealth x Stussy Olympic Tee

"In remembrance of that historic medal ceremony at the ‘68 Olympics in Mexico City, Stussy & Commonwealth hook up on yet another tee project. Capturing American athletes Tommie Smith and John Carlos throwing up that famous salute, the image caused a stir amongst the public at the time due to all the ongoing civil rights issues."

Damien Hirst [Pt. III] - The Auction

Looks like Mr. Hirst has outdone himself once again, this time with a little help from his friends. The "Beautiful Inside My Head" auction netted a reported $200 million dollars over its 2-days.

"If I had [200 million] dollars.. I'd cop more pink polos and pop those collars!"

'My Son Marshall, My Son Eminem'

Ladies & gentleman Debbie Nelson is at it again.. Now personally I've never been the type to intrude on other people's family lives but this time is a little different seeing as how Slim Shady himself has put it all out there for us already. I can't believe this lady is still trying to make money off a son who she claims to "still love". For those of you who don't know, Nelson is coming out with a book entitled 'My Son Marshall, My Son Eminem' in November which is supposed to set the record straight regarding her role as a mother, dispelling claims by Em that she was never around and he raised his little brother pretty much on his own.

If you want a little bit more insight to the whole situation, peep game:

WORST PART IS.. AIG is reportedly worth a TRILLION dollars!!

Damien Hirst [Pt. II] - 'For the Love of God'

About the For the Love of God Skull:

The Diamond covered skull by Damien Hirst is a continuation of the artist's exploration of death and the way we react to it."For the Love of God" is covered with 8,601 real diamonds and has been valued as the most expensive contemporary work of art. Hirst spent about $20 million USD to create the diamond covered work and put a price tag of $100 million USD on it.

Damien Hirst was quoted as saying "It works much better than I imagined. I was slightly worried that we'd end up with an Ali G ring." He also said, "I wouldn't mind if it happened to my skull after my death."

Update: In August 2007, it was widely reported that Damien Hirst sold "For the Love of God" to an investment group for $100 million USD or about 50 million pounds. Hirst is said to own a percentage of the diamond skull, but it was not reported how much he still owns. The buyers will be expected to exhibit the work for the next two to three years at museums around the world. The BBC reported that the investors planned to resell the work at a later date. This would make "For the Love of God" the most expensive work of art ever to sell by a living artist.

Once again ladies & gentlemen, stay tuned.. Part tres is on the way.

Damien Hirst [Pt. I] - 'Virgin Mother'

Destination: East 53rd Street & Park Avenue [by the Lever House restaurant], sits Damien Hirst's 'Virgin Mother' statue. This has to be some of the best artwork I've ever seen. It's a 30 foot statue that not only is eye-catching, but educational as well. If you're ever in the city, check it out.. like the title says, this is just part one.

Wait til you see what's next..

Yahoo has composed a list of '5 Reasons Why McCain Has Pulled Ahead' in the race for the Presidential election. Here it is:

1. McCain as a 'change agent'
2. The center shifts: Independents move to McCain
3. The economic gap narrows
4. Palin narrows the enthusiasm gap
5. Democrats voter ID edge dulls

If It Doesn't Fit, You Must Acquit.. Pt. II??

As Orenthal James Simpson prepares to face yet another trial that could potentially land him in jail for life, much of the talk now is focused on the influence [or lack thereof] the African-American community will have on this trial. Personally, I think the miracle Johnnie Cochran pulled off in 1995 can never, and will never, be matched again so it looks like the only running 'The Juice' will be doing is in & out of cell blocks.

This latest trial has begun and to the defenses surprise the jury [made up of 9 women & 3 men] does not contain a single person of African-American decent. Is this a conspiracy theory or just a coincidence?? You tell me..

..To Be Continued

Hurricane Ike

My thoughts & prayers are with those have been affected by this tragedy. It seems like it's nothing but negative news these days. I wonder if our President is just going to fly by this time.. He'll probably stop to pick up his parents in Tanglewood, Houston and forget about the rest of the state, you know.. typical George W. Anywho, here are a couple photos.. Be thankful for what you have because you never know when someone [or something] will take it away..

733 Days.. til the end of the Diesel's reign

I for one never thought this day would come and unlike many of the haters this wonderful world is filled with I have nothing but love & admiration for the Diesel.. I mean, who wouldn't?? Shaq Fu has provided us with some of the more memorable moments in recent sports history and to not have him around come October 2010 will leave a void that the rest will never fill. Here are a couple memorable quotes that come to mind:

"check it, you know how i be..
last week Kobe couldn't do without me."

"Kobe.. nigga tell me how my ass tastes!"

“It’s just one more win. I don’t give a [shit] how we do it, as long as we get it done. Did I say [shit]? I’m sorry.”

“They call me the Big Sewer because I have a lot of shit in my game.”

“I think the new ball is terrible. It’s the worst decision some expert, whoever did it, made. It’s terrible. It’s like touching an exotic dancer and then going and touching a plastic blow-up doll. You know, it feels different.” [Referring to the new basketball instituted by the NBA, that was removed mid-season]

“Me having a beautiful wife and great family and friends around me, all the money I’ve got, all the things that I’ve got, a Ferrari that I just ripped the top off of and turned into a convertible, the rings I got, the two mansions on the water, a master’s in criminal justice, I’m a cop, plus I look good. So me shooting 40 percent at the foul line is just God’s way of saying that nobody’s perfect. If I shot 90 percent from the line, it just wouldn’t be right.”

“I wouldn’t. I would just go home. I’d fake an injury or something.” [When asked how he would defend against himself]

At the end of the day not only is Shaq O'Neal the NBA's version of Superman, but he's America's as well. We're gonna miss you big dog.
