Bill Cosby Has Gone Hip-Hop
The always funny and often too offensive Bill Cosby has finally given up.. or has he? Most of you know, or have heard stories about Cobsy's harsh critcisms of lower-class African-Americans and hip-hop culture alike so this next move seems a little unorthodox. Cosby has decided to release a free hip-hop album titled, Bill Cosby Presents The Cosnerati: State Of Emergency with hopes of reaching people with his message thru music. Clean. Uplifting. Non-violent. Those are just some of the ways Cosby likes his music and his latest endeavor embodies all of the above. If you don't believe me, click HERE to see for yourself.
And for those of you who are intrested, the legend himself will be at Central Washington University, this Saturday, October 24th, for what seems to be an entertaining event.

TKO 96 years in the making??
One of the first African-American sports icons is on the verge of recieving a posthumous pardon from President Obama, and the majority of America as a whole. Jack Johson, a storied boxing champion was arrested in 1912 and convicted in 1913 for violating the Mann Act; this Act banned the interstate transport of females for “immoral purposes” and its primary stated intent was to address prostitution, immorality, and human trafficking. The most compelling part of this story is, Johnson was prosecuted simply for the fact that white America couldn't beat him in the ring, so they went after him in the court.
Alan Silverleib's piece on cnn.com gets into more detail so I strongly suggest y'all check it out HERE.
For those of you who don't know much about Johnson, or his impact on the boxing world, you'll find more here.
